Dear Redemption Church,
The Elders and the Foundation Group would like to let you know some very exciting news. Through much prayer and discussion, God has opened up a new home for our church to rent. It will be more cost effective and a substantial move up in quality. In addition, our rental money will now be going to another partner in ministry. This decision does not come lightly, but a necessity as the Skylight building is up for sale and we are unsure of our future, when the building sold. Of course, our desire is following the Lord first and the unity of our Redemption body as second during this move process.
We are officially in contract with Granville Christian Academy and renting their 5 th Street Gym, across the street from the Newark Public Library. With the Lord’s help and the serving hands of our body, there is much work to be done.
Our time frame is a lofty goal, but one we feel we can achieve. We desire to have a “soft” opening on two evenings: the first being the Maundy Thursday communion night, April 2 and the Good Friday teaching, April 3. We will be open a little earlier than start time and stay a bit later so that all may tour the areas that we will be using, and take advantage of knowing where the nursery, children’s ministry and youth classes will be held. “Then, in bursting forth in glorious day,” we will be in our new home as of Easter service, Sunday morning, April 5th at 10:30am!
Even though this is a lateral move, this new rental does not negate our determination to find a permanent home as we will continue to be aggressive and look at land and properties as the Lord’s leads to that end goal.
Marilyn Schouten will be the project manager for all the work that needs to be done in the areas of remodel, along with: Shawn Bruck, Amber and Levi Dailey, and Art Minton when Marilyn has other commitments. Thank you all, and please pray unity during this transition process and for helping hands to accomplish the tasks ahead.

Maundy Thursday
Join us for a special Community Communion service on Maundy Thursday as we gather together at our new space at the 5th Street Gym!
During this service, we will remember Christ’s sacrifice, reflect on His love, and receive Communion together as one body. It’s a meaningful, quiet, and sacred time to prepare our hearts for Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Good Friday Teaching
Come join us in our new space in the 5th Street Gym, for a special Good Friday teaching as we pause to remember the sacrifice that changed everything.
Good Friday is the day we reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It marks the moment He willingly went to the cross, bearing sin and suffering so that we could experience forgiveness, freedom, and new life. Though it is a solemn day, it is called “Good” because of the incredible hope that came through His sacrifice.
Easter Sunday
Join us this Easter Sunday at the 5th Street Gym, as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope we have because the tomb is empty.
Easter is a day of joy, renewal, and new life. Together we’ll worship, reflect on the power of the resurrection, and rejoice in the promise that death has lost its sting!
Safety Team Training Day
Our Safety Team will be holding an important training day. All team members should plan to attend as we cover essential updates, protocols, and preparedness strategies.
Date & Time: Time is subject to change as we get closer, so please stay tuned for updates.
Thank you for your commitment to keeping our church family safe and supported.
